RAPID and Partnership for Community Action partnership
Community served
Since 1990, New Mexico-based Partnership for Community Action has been dedicated to building strong, healthy communities by addressing critical issues such as early childhood education and economic equity. Their impact is rooted in Albuquerque’s South Valley, extending across the state and affecting systemic change that benefits all New Mexicans.
Partnership for Community Action works primarily with early child care educators, caregivers, and families with young children, and 90% of their families are Hispano/Latino and 87% speak Spanish as their primary language.
Priorities and goals
Operating at both the local and state levels, Partnership for Community Action supports communities to take ownership of solutions and lead the way to lasting change, with a focus on critical issues such as early childhood education and development, economic equity, and family well-being, community wellness. Rooted in grassroots organizing strategies, the organization convenes diverse coalitions to address public safety, economic development, and education reform.
Engaging families
In 2024, the RAPID Survey Project and Partnership for Community Action began collaborating and leveraging partnerships to amplify community voices in survey creation and dissemination, with the goal of advocating for young children, parents, and families in New Mexico and providing data to inform early childhood education and child care programs and policies.
Data and insights
During this time of incredible transformation and access to resources for children and families, parent voices are critical to understand the impact on families in real time. The evidence will indicate current needs being met, or lack thereof, and will be a record of where families and parents are at the start of the state’s investment. The data will also show where we are not meeting the mark to address the needs of parents and communities.
