RAPID surveys document the real-time experiences of parents and caregivers across the country with children under age 6, gathering data over time.
National household survey
Since April 2020, the RAPID Survey Project has been collecting ongoing data from parents of children under age 6 across the country. The core content areas of the national RAPID household survey are experiences of material hardship, child and parent emotional well-being, access to and use of child care, and use of preventive health care. Below are data for each of these core areas from April 2020 to present. Data are weighted to match known population characteristics. These trend data are updated monthly.
Data & Methodology Note: These interactive trend lines incorporate the most recent version of the national household survey data. Figures may differ slightly from previously published fact sheets based on data version. Moving forward, we will continue to build upon this trend line by adding new data points as they are acquired.
